English singer-songwriter Chris Norman – The Original Voice of Smokie – is coming to Indigo at The O2 on 16th October 2025.

Chris Norman first rose to fame as the frontman of the legendary 70’s band Smokie. In 1986, he left the group to begin his hugely successful solo career, launching with the smash hit single “Midnight Lady”, which topped charts across Europe.

Over the years, Chris has released around 22 albums, had 21 hit singles, and sold more than 30 million records worldwide. His musical journey began at school, performing all over the UK in the late 60s and early 70s. By 1974, the band had created their signature harmony-driven sound and rebranded as Smokie.

Their debut album Pass It Around (1975) included the first hit “If You Think You Know How to Love Me”, followed by a string of chart-toppers such as “Living Next Door to Alice”, “I’ll Meet You at Midnight”, and “Lay Back in the Arms of Someone”. A duet with Suzi Quatro, “Stumblin’ In”, became Chris’s first major international hit outside the band.

As a solo artist, Chris continued to shine. In 1994, he was named “International Video Star of the Year” by CMT Europe for “Jealous Heart”, “The Growing Years”, and “Red Hot Screaming Love”. That same year, he formed a new band and embarked on his first tour in six years.

With a career spanning five decades, Chris Norman remains the original voice of Smokie, and his live performances are filled with timeless classics.
